A 8 day 7 night residential workshop for professional Designers and Artist in the Himalayan mountain range at Nasahala, a beautiful village located between Kullu and Manali.

About the event

A 8 day 7 night residential workshop specially designed for architects, Crafters, Artists and interior designers, focused on lesser-known Indian folk and tribal art forms and how they can be integrated into modern and contemporary design.


The workshop will include short introductions to 7 iconic Indian folk art forms, hands-on sessions to create your own artworks, along with discussions on sustainable design and indigenous practices, in the himalayan mountain range at Nasahala, a beautiful village located between Kullu and Manali.

 

About the Event-


Themes: Indian Folk Art and Modern Design

the Art forms we will be focusing on are-

Gond Art,

Sohrai Painting,

Pichwai,

Godna design,

Kalamkari and

Madhubani Painting.



Participants: Artists above 18 till you are fit to walk in the mountains.

Location: Nashala, Himachal Pradesh


Eligibility Criteria for the 8 Day Art Workshop in Manali:


1. Age Group: min 18 years and max till you’re fit to walk in the mountains.

2. Basic Art Skills: Participants must have a basic understanding of sketching and drawing.

3. Interest in Devotional Art: Passionate about learning Indian Folk Art painting.

4. Fitness Requirement: Physically fit to participate in outdoor sketching sessions and mural painting

activities.

5. Art Supplies: Participants are encouraged to bring their personal sketchbooks and

preferred art supplies. Essential materials will be provided.

6. Commitment: Willingness to attend all 7 days of the workshop and participate in all

activities, including group mural painting.


Things to Carry:


• Personal art supplies (Sketckbook, Pen & Pencil)

• Comfortable clothing for painting

• Warm clothes (Manali chilly in the winters)

• Personal water bottle

• Sunscreen, hat/cap, sunglasses

• Power bank and phone charger

• Personal toiletries and medications

• A small backpack for field visits

• Camera/Phone for capturing art inspirations

• Umbrella or raincoat (for unexpected weather)

• Comfortable footwear and slippers

• ID Proof (Aadhar Card/Driving License)


How to Reach?


1. By Air:


a. The nearest airport is Bhuntar Airport (Kullu Airport), located 20 km

from Nashala.

b. Taxis and local buses are available to Naggar(3 KMs from Nashala).


2. By Train:


a. The nearest railway station is Joginder Nagar Railway Station,

approximately 165 km away.

b. From there, participants can take a taxi or bus to Pathikhul (3 KMs from

Nashala).


3. By Road:


a. Manali is well-connected by road from major cities like Delhi,

Chandigarh, and Shimla.

b. Regular buses and private taxis are available from these cities to Manali.

c. Self-drive options and cab rentals are also available.


Inclusion & Exclusion


Inclusions:


• 6 Nights stay at the designated Art Retreat Center ( Three Sharing Basis)

• All meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner (Vegetarian)

• Art supplies: Paints & Brushes

• Guided workshops by Prakash Garg

• Mural painting materials

• Certificate of Participation

• Group interaction sessions

• Group photo and video compilation of the workshop


Exclusions:


• Travel to and from Nashala, Manali

• Personal expenses (Snacks, Beverages, etc.)

• Medical or personal insurance

• Any other expenses not mentioned in inclusions

• Additional art supplies beyond the provided materials

• Adventure activities or treks not listed in the itinerary


Terms & Conditions:


• Participants will have to follow the instructions clearly given by the

volunteer/organizer, Misbehave/Arguing with the volunteers/organizer will be

considered as disciplinary issues

• Smoking, Alcohol, Tobacco & Abusive Language are strictly prohibited and if

anyone found a suspect in such cases, the participation will be terminated and

no further service/refund will be offered then after.

• Participants are responsible for their travel to and from Nashala.

• The workshop schedule is subject to change based on weather conditions and other


Cancellation Policy:


• Cancellation 45 days prior to the workshop start date: 80% refund

• Cancellation 30 days prior to the workshop start date: 50% refund

• Cancellation 7-14 days prior to the workshop start date: 25% refund

• Cancellation less than 7 days prior to the workshop start date: No refund

• Refunds will be processed within 15 working days after the cancellation request is approved.
