Turning to Devotion

Belonging to an Agarwal family who follows all their traditions since ages, I’ve never been much away from devotion and culture since my childhood.
My Family Guruji “Shri Swami Shardanand ji Maharaj” Was the main influence behind my Shiv Bhakti, wearing Dhoti since I was 3 years old, doing Shiv Abhishekam everyday , touching feet of parents every morning are some of the rituals which was a must for me. Adding to it I had to do my study from “Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Batauli” till class 8th, because of being initiated by RSS this school was very much aligned with Hinduism that’s why a lot of prayers and Mantras were by heart to me since childhood.
As I went to Bilaspur city for my higher studies (Information technology engineering) I got exposed to a lot of different culture and beliefs that raised a lot of question inside me and I started doubting my own self and traditions.
In 2012 when I was in second year of my engineering, I started believing that whatever I used to do as a child including my Pooja was not making a lot of sense and I started to go far from my religious practices. Although the spiritual corner inside me was always there and I joined a few meditation programs including “Art of Living” and “Shivyog” but it didn’t happen to answer my questions.
All this while I was continuing my conceptual art which was the reflection of my beliefs and my emotional self at that time.
In 2022 I got a chance to visit “Isha Foundation, Coimbatore” with my friend “Rushiraj” for “Inner engineering retreat” program designed by “Sadhguru” and this program was a turning point for me, I lack of words to explain exactly how but I was answered for a lot of my questions and since that time I’ve started my devotional art again.
While working on any devotional painting I always try my level best that instead of external inspiration I try to take inspiration from Scriptures.
The devotional painting you’ll see in my collection is either the result of my meditation or my study and research of scriptures.
I hope you’ll be able to unfold your spiritual beliefs through my paintings.
